O&A LONDON TEXTILE AND WALLCOVERING COLLECTION
In September 2018, the O&A London brand will present its first collection of interior decorative fabrics and wallpapers, CALEDONIA, created in partnership with the company Holland & Sherry whose almost two-centuries experience in exclusive textile production is unrivalled on the world market.
O&A London is a creative duo consisting of architect Oleg Klodt and designer Anna Agapova. They came into the spotlight in November 2017 when they unveiled their first furniture collection at the Decorator Showcase Holiday House London. Embodying the charismatic luxury of ‘new art deco’, the furniture from O&A London quickly won recognition among experts in professional circles, hitting the pages of prestigious publications and being shortlisted for design awards.
Holland & Sherry, founded in London in 1836, is now synonymous with woollen cloths of impeccable quality and exquisite design. Holland & Sherry have 17 showrooms around the globe, including several in the world capitals of state-of-the-art design such as London, Paris, Dubai and New-York.
The CALEDONIA collection is a declaration of love to a remote corner of the world, where, against a backdrop of the picturesque Highlands, the basalt cliffs of the Isle of Skye are washed by cold Atlantic waters. CALEDONIA reflects the deeply intimate sense of beauty that designers Anna Agapova and Oleg Klodt felt on their first visit to Scotland, where the images of their new wallpaper and fabrics collection took shape.
Being inspired by the majestic Scottish landscape, the designers created a story that journeyed around the land of the Celts. It consists of eight “chapters” — eight unique designs that show how the three forces of nature can be embodied by a collection of wallpaper and decorative fabrics for the home.
The collection uses three types of weaving, providing the possibility for extensive use of each design for interior decoration. Textured soft jacquard and specially treated flannel will find practical use in both upholstery and portiere curtains alike. A special weaving of wool and silk creates the effect of a pearly shimmer, which will serve as an elegant solution for window decor. If an ornament is a story, the fabric is a language to tell a story. The CALEDONIA collection is a result of the talented collaboration between O&A London and Holland & Sherry. It is created using only the finest natural materials — silk, wool and linen. Embossed jacquard imitates the texture of stones and seashells, and smooth streaming silk mimics the movements of waves and the gusts of tough winds.
CALEDONIA speaks the language of nature itself.
